Diapers ,Diapers, Diapers.....

Friday, January 30, 2009

After trying several brands of diapers for my little guy, I found Huggies and Pampers to be alright.  I also tried the Costco brand KIRKLAND and they were good, and not very expensive. Definitely a cost effective solution to diapers when you buy them in bulk in a big box.  However, the other day I discovered PARENT'S CHOICE PREMIUM. There much cheaper then all the brand names and they're great. They almost custom fit every baby with the elastic type band around the waist.  I purchased them at Walmart (Canada) . I got a bag of 52 diapers for only $13.00. Great value!

Handmade Stuff

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Looking for some cool stuff that is handmade.  You can buy or sell handmade items on Etsy.com.  It's a great website. Not only can you buy really nice baby items for gifts and for your little one, you can buy all kinds of things.  They have great crochet hats for babies, and also really nice organic onesies. Take  a peek.  The website might seems a bit confusing at first but once you get the hang of it ,it's quite easy to navigate through.

Good Resources

Thursday, January 8, 2009

If your look around to get the scoop on good baby products or what other mom's and dad's have posted about some of the products on the market, here are some useful websites.

BabyScoop : thebabyscoop.com - This site has great information. It has review on products and you can also post your own comments on this site. It was created by two moms that wanted to make it easier for parents to find good information all in one location.

You can also try: Consumer Reports at www.consumerreports.org

Car Seat Recalls:

www.tc.gc.ca  For Canada only

Online Forums

On line forums that have all sorts of advice from finding good innovative new products on the market, to baby advice to places where it's baby friendly. Most of these forums are Canadian based.

www.babyvibe.ca

www.momandtots.ca

www.CafeMom.com

www.savvymom.ca

www.urbanmoms.ca

www.yummymummysite.com

Sit yourself in front of your fireplace and these forums are like a good book.  Read away and take in as much information as you can.  Often times, it's cheaper to read through these forums then buying large amounts of how to books!  and it saves time.

Boxing Day Sales !

MEC Clearance Sales:

Spotted on the MEC.CA website, there are organically grown cotton T's for five bucks!  Many other items for really good prices.  The only catch is you need to have a membership but it only cost $5.00.

To make it easy just press on this link: http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_listing.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302847945&bmUID=1230832975918

Children's Place:

Some of the best outlets are cheaper for baby and toddler clothing.  Children's place has a for sale clearance rack that has many great deals.  You can get overall's for $10.00 and onesies for $5.00. However, that being said get there quick all the good stuff is sure to be gone.

Sears and Walmart:

KidVantage at Sears has good boxing day sales, although they have sales through out the year. Kid'sChoiceat Walmart has great sleepers that your child can grow with for under $12.00.  As for the quality , it's good.  Babies outgrow clothing so fast, cheaper clothing is not always a bad choice.  All the fabric is probably from the same factory, if you think about it.
